We have had a blast having some dancehall shows recently! You lot LOOOVE to shake it teehee. We have missed playing with our prog/alt/rock friends though so we are delighted to have two edgy gigs this month.
First up, our lovely friends The Western Suburbs are making their live performance debut at The Astor Theatre on Thursday the 14th of May. Led by the superb vox/guitar tones of (the super hawt fyi) Maegan Johnsen, this band is sure to set your little alt hearts alight. Completing the lineup will be Windows to the World, who us Gov’s were lucky enough to catch at 13 Circles‘ recent launch. As well as being a killer lineup, there’s also a secret little collaborative surprise that us Gov’s are co-conspirators on. Love a good conspiracy!

PULMAC, an intiative launched by Scudley Records has blossomed to over 2000 members. The showcases are just one arm of the clubs’ push to promote Perth original music to the greater community. We are very honoured to have been invited onto the lineup for this, the MAY EVENT, joining The Milkmen, Dan Peters & The Volatyles and breakout harmonic riff-lords September Sun. Feeling a little bit awe-struck to be opening this one, but very excited to be sharing the generous stage at The Civic Hotel in such esteemed company.

And THEN

a very very special FUNKTASTIC show at The Velvet Lounge on Sunday May 31st. The next day is a public Holiday to celebrate WADAY. So what we have here brothers and sisters is WADAY – Its’ a FUNK EMERGENCY!

Jump in the back of the JAMBULANCE and cure those cold sweats with a night of funky-as-hell bands, DJs, Roller Disco and 70s dress up good times. More details and updates on the event page, so go join and keep up. Dig it!
